Loading Google Talk Gadget in your browser (Mozilla and Opera)



If you're a user of Firefox or Opera browsers, you can load the Google Talk Gadget into your browser's sidebar, so that it's always available, no matter which page you're viewing in the main window. You'll stay signed in until you close your browser window or the sidebar, or until you sign out from the gadget's menu.


To add the gadget to your Firefox sidebar:


1. In Firefox, click Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks. The Bookmarks Manager appears. 2. Click New Bookmark...


3. Enter any Name, such as Google Talk Gadget.


4. In the Location field, copy and paste the following URL: http://talkgadget.google.com/talkgadget/popout


5. Select Load this bookmark in the sidebar.


6. Click OK.


7. Close the Bookmarks Manager window. Any time you'd like to pop the gadget into your sidebar, simply select your new bookmark from the Bookmarks menu and start chatting! You may be prompted to sign in to your Google Account before you can use the gadget.



To add the gadget to your Opera sidebar:


1. In Opera, click Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks. The Bookmarks Manager opens in a new tab.


2. Click Add and a new small window pops up.


3. In the name field type GTalk Gadget.


4. In the Create in field choose Bookmarks from the drop-down menu


5. In the Address field, copy and paste the following URL: http://talkgadget.google.com/talkgadget/popout


6. Select Show on personal bar.


7. Select Show in panel.


8. Click OK.


9. Close the Bookmarks properties window.


10. On the main Opera window you will see an icon below the File option in the left top corner of the window



11. Click the star that appears right below the icon you just clicked.


12. Login to Gmail if it asks you to.


13. Done!!
